My lack of gaming time
Hey guys, what up? We'll here goes. I've been away from gaming for a little while now because i've had some major happenings going on with my family. My younger brother (26) was in a very serious car accident out in colorado that has consumed most of my time and thoughts. He moved out to colorado about 8 months ago to find work because the ecomony in michigan is probably the worst in the country right now. He got a good paying job on an oil rig and things were starting to look good for him. Him and a buddy shared an apt. and he was working 80 plus hours a week trying to save money. About a month ago him and his friends went to an all weekend concert kinda like ozz fest. On his way home (he was not drunk) he fell asleep at the wheel and went air born into the median. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the car. His spinal cord was severed compleatly and he will never walk again. To make matters worse, my family all still lives in michigan and he is still in colorodo doing his rehab. I have been flying out there every other weekend or so to hang with him and so has the rest of my family. Also he had no medical insurance so we had a bennefit for him to raise some money to get my moms home more wheelchair accesiable. Bennefit went better than anyone expected. We raised around 5 thousand dollars so thats a pretty good start. Thats all i really got for now. But i'll try to keep you guys informed on whats going on. Its just life has really been put in perspective for me and i've been spending alot more time with my family. I'm thinking when he does come back to live with my mom i'm gonnna get him an xbox er something so he can take his mind off whats going on. Well thats all i got for now. Just though i'd tell ya guys im not ignoring you, just really busy right now. Hope to see you guys soon!

Re: My lack of gaming time
Damn dude, that's horrible news.
I hope for the best possible outcome.
I had a good friend in a similar situation where he was working far away and was hit by an asleep 18-wheeler.
He had 9 surgeries and still has another that only gives him 50% chance of survival.
I can't imagine it being my own brother.
Get him online too so he can be a part of an online community where your mobility doesn't matter.
Obviously, gaming is one of our lowest priorities. So do your thing man. We will be here.
But let me know one night when you want to chill after the fam goes to sleep.
I'll blaze one wit ya.

Re: My lack of gaming time
Sorry to hear about that adam. You never want to see anyone go through that, especially a family member.
